PRACTICAL GUIDE / AI DISCOVERY

Why isn't my website showing up in AI search?

Not seeing your business mentioned in ChatGPT, Gemini or an AI-generated search answer can be frustrating. There is no universal submission form that guarantees a mention. Start by checking whether your website is accessible, clearly describes your organization, and answers the questions people actually ask.

Quick start: Check the six foundations below, then run AIVistaQ's free URL audit for supported public-site signals. An audit cannot confirm whether an AI model will recommend your business.

1. Check whether key pages can be discovered

Verify that important pages are publicly accessible, linked from your navigation and not accidentally blocked by robots directives. Review your sitemap and indexing reports in your search engine webmaster tools. A crawlable page is not guaranteed to be indexed or used in an AI answer.

2. Describe the business in plain language

State what you offer, who it is for, where you operate and how to contact you. Use consistent organization names and service descriptions across relevant pages. Avoid vague slogans that make it difficult to identify the business.

3. Answer real customer questions

Include concrete answers about service areas, pricing approach, timelines, eligibility, limitations and common problems. Put the answers in accessible page text, not only in images.

4. Add appropriate structured data

Where it accurately reflects visible page content, use relevant structured data for organizations, articles or other supported entities. Validate the markup. Structured data helps describe content but does not guarantee AI citations or special search treatment.

5. Show who is responsible for the content

Provide a credible About page, author or editorial information where appropriate, a clear contact route and accurate dates. Keep important claims up to date and support them with first-hand evidence where possible.

6. Measure what you can actually observe

Track organic discovery using webmaster tools and analytics where available. Test representative customer questions manually across different AI interfaces, noting that answers can vary by time, account, region and prompt. Avoid treating a single answer as a stable ranking.

What the free AIVistaQ audit checks

The audit uses publicly accessible site information to assess supported technical and content signals. It is not a substitute for Google Search Console, a page-speed test, mobile visual testing or direct AI mention monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

Does a good SEO score guarantee AI mentions?

No. SEO and AI-answer visibility can overlap, but AI systems have different retrieval and answer-generation behavior. No site audit can promise inclusion.

Can a small business benefit?

Yes. Clear services, locations, trust information and customer-focused answers are useful foundations for visitors and search systems regardless of business size.

Is the audit available in English?

The English landing page offers a basic interactive audit with English summaries for recognized check types. Some detailed diagnostics and paid support remain Japanese-language services.
